Lastly, one thing that has no analog with FSX is the hot debate over which routes will be "included" and how that will dictate someone's buying decision. We predicted that reaction and believe it represents the first step in a mental shift that will take place as people wrap their heads around the "World of Rails" concept. WoR forces you to ask, "What is a route?" Is it the terrain and scenery? The track and signals? Rolling stock? Signifcant landmarks? We are striving to supply many of these attributes through our data-based WoR. What else is required before you believe we've "included a route"? The question is only partially rhetorical. I look forward to seeing who we--collectively--answer that in the months to come.

Saludos:

Javier.-

"I just got back from the show last night and wanted to answer some questions and clarify some stuff.

The signalling system is technically not fully scriptable. There is a script, and within the limits of the script and the data we provide it is fully scriptable, but that doesn't mean you can do any obscure signal you want. That said, it can accommodate many different signalling systems. One of our Subject Matter Experts for European signalling systems has said it is better than even some of the commercial simulators he has seen.

The WoR should have signals, but most likely they will need to be moved\replaced\removed when updating an area to high accuracy. The same will be true for catenary.

The track data we get is 2d only, but we are developing algorithms to grade track based on the underlying DEM data. Obviously this will not be correct in many cases, so there will still be a lot of track and grading work when uppgrading an area to high accuracy as well.

As somone mentioned already, the WoR is a canvas, some data to start with as a template for a high accuracy route. It should also give a decent experience for those who just want to drive a train and are not worried whether it exactly matches a real location.
